Exceptional Footballers - John Church

A deadly striker – John helped GB achieve the Deaflympics Bronze Medal at Cologne 1981, Germany and the Silver Medal at Los Angeles 1985, USA.
Missed out on the 1989 Christchurch (NZ) Deaflympics due to a serious knee injury.
Represented Celtic Boys U18 in the tour of Iceland and has played alongside several well known professionals; he was well respected.
Won all trophies and honours for Glasgow St.Vincent’s with nearly 400 goals to his credit.
Developed a powerful partnership with George MacDonald who would lay the ball for John to put it into the back of the net.
The best ever centre-forward of his generation.
