Exceptional Racket Players – Martin Bogard (Badminton)

Won 8 medals (1 Gold, 4 Silver, 3 Bronze) at five Deaflympics (from Los Angeles, USA 1985 toRome, Italy 2001) – a phenomenal feat.
Won gained at least 5 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze medals at 4 European Badminton Championships.
Demonstrated his loyalty to the ICSD as both Sports and Badminton Director since 2001.
Awarded the ICSD Medal of Honour in 2022 for outstanding services to deaf badminton spanning nearly 50 years – an incredible achievement.
A gifted sportsman, he won practically everything that he took part – chess, snooker, golf and tennis.
Represented Great Britain Tennis and even won the National Singles Tennis title on one occasion.
