  • The most decorated Great Britain deaf athlete in history - 18 medals (3 Gold, 8 Silver, 7 Bronze) from three Deaflympics:
    - Koln, Germany 1981 – 2 Bronze Medals
    - Los Angeles, USA 1985 - 4 Silver, 3 Bronze
    - Christchurch, New Zealand 1989 – 3 Gold,    4 Silver, 2 Bronze.
  • Achieved the impossible – swam to 9 Gold Medals with NINE personal bests in finals at the 1986 European Swimming Championship, London – broke 3 world records in a single day!
  • A most prominent all-round swimmer covering all distances from 100 metres to 1500 metres.
  • Took part in the GB Water Polo team event at the 1985 Los Angeles Deaflympics, USA.
