Richard is pleased to submit this proposal and am proud to see this commissioned the "100 Years of Deaflympics" television documentary. This project offers a unique educational opportunity to highlight a significant sporting event that occurs every four years which is largely unknown to the hearing community.
Thanks to LumoTV and DrummerTV for making it happen.
We’re delighted to share that Deaf Sports Personality of the Year has won the Sporting Heritage Award in the Disability and Neurodivergent Sporting Heritage category! Big thanks to the British Deaf Association for nominating us.
Their incredible exhibition – “100 Years of the Deaflympics”, held in Glasgow last November 2024 – celebrated Great Britain’s journey through every Deaflympics Games since the very first in 1924, in which the British Deaf Association proudly played a role.
This award recognises the passion, dedication and countless voluntary hours from Richard Weinbaum and Sandra Campbell, whose work has preserved and showcased a century of Deaf sporting excellence. Also everyone at UK Deaf Sport and British Deaf Association for ensuring our Deaf sporting heritage continues to inspire future generations.
